Yes I confess, Mumbai, yu are no longer beautiful, you are no longer as stunning as you used to be, I am sad today, now when I look at you,I see scars on your face, you seem tired, you seem tainted, the wrinkles have opened wide. What went wrong?

Its true, people all over the country think that Mumbai would be like a foreign city, there will be some magic in it, the tall sky scrappers, the deep blue sea… the clean large roads and all the facilities in the world. That’s the thing of the past, we are now the highest populated city in the world, 1.4 crore!! Whopping 1.4 crores. About a 60 % of the city lives in slums. Yeah we also have the largest slum in the world. We have the biggest gas chamber in Asia; we also have highest traffic jams in Asia. I believe have I busted most of your dreams? Yes I want to. Coz that’s the truth.

We are soon going to face power cuts, the property rates are soaring sky high, water problems as always make you crib everyday, trains are freaking crowded dare to stand on Dadar station at 7 pm in the evening its better than a nightmare, people travel by road say we have added 5 minutes every week to journey to office and 10 minutes traveling back home, hopelessly crowded.

The bandra worli sea link is half done and doesn’t seem to get the finishing touches before 2009. Chembur – santacruz link road which was to be completed in 2006, is not even half done, metro rail is said to be completed by 2009 but an average mumbaite thinks its going to take at least a couple of more years than the deadline.

So I sincerely request people from other parts of the country not to think of coming to Mumbai and settling down here and similar people who have just started staying here just F****** pack your bags and get back to your town. I don’t believe in god, but I do pray for a Tsunami to hit Mumbai or another 26^th July, may be in 2007

Did u forget that your parents are immigrants too?! And what do u mean by a tsunami hitting mumbai or bombblasts? No concern for human life at all…it could affect one of ur own or maybe even u…this post has degenerated in the last para…very sickening. Was hoping for some constructive ideas…like decentralising mumbai…why does it have to be the major center for all kinds of business? maybe if things are moved around we could see lesser people moving to the city…i still cant believe u wrote that last para…utter bullshit and makes no sense at all…if it was the ideal solution u would have probably been born in punjab or delhi…or may be havin a chat with hell’s angels! bad boy nikhil!

JUST LIKE YOU I THOUGHT THERE SHOULD BE MORE 7/11 BUT SINCE I MYSELF TRAVEL, I PRAY THIS SHOULDNT HAPPEN. TSUNAMI WILL KILL YOUR FAMILY, MY FAMILY AND OTHERS FAMILY. IT WONT HELP.

I’VE STOPPED WATCHING PORN. STILL I WATCH IT EVERYDAY ON THE RAILWAY TRACKS. AND YES ITS GAY PORN. THE SMELL OF THE STINKING SHIT IS WORSE.

MUMBAI HAS LOST ITS CHARM. SEE ANY CITY LIKE SINGAPORE, DUBAI, SYDNEY…NY…HONKONG!!!!! WOW THATS A PLACE TO LIVE….
THESE PEOPLE HAVE FELT THE PASSION UNITEDLY!!! UNLIKE THE DYING PASSION WE LOSE IN COMPETING.

BUT WE ARE INDIANS THATS WHAT IS THE PROBLEM.
I FEEL MAKE A SINGAPORE NEXT TO MUMBAI AND LET MUMBAI BE MUMBAI. WE HAVE LOTS OF BARREN LAND WHICH IS UNUSED…WE CAN BUILD A CITY THERE. SO THAT THE DRAIN COMING TO MUMBAI SHIFTS THERE ASAP….MEANWHILE LET MUMBAI BREATH AND BE BUILD AFRESH.

I agree with wht ever u hav written…Bt i believe Mumbai is city of opportunities. And tht is the reason i hav come for. Yeah there r slums bt u also know tht they r making money like anything. ok, tell me onething..tell me a name of a pefect place? and u r talking abt immigrants..these people feel “something is better than nothing” thts why they come here. here in mumbai u will get every opportunity to make money whether tht is by smuggling or something else. isnt it..
why dont u think..if people will stop coming here, ur business will also get affected. So dont gve any such suggestions. And Tsunami…pray god “this time tsunami to hit Chembur” nt towards AICAR. I dont wanna die now…5 lakh dub jayega yaar….hahahahhaaaaaaaaaaa

Saale…..Kallan….TSUNAMI…..Creativity to Destructivity…Nik to Apocalypto….Bhaari asar pad raha hai tere pe….Well the crux of the matter thing is not about it is not only Mumbai…which is facing this kinda problem, Pune is another vivid xample….the thing is that there shud be other cities who should have been given proper attention so as to drive the economy with equal efficiency & thus bringing in geographical importance on a larger frame. The way Mumbai has been well connected to various places within & outside is what has contributed it to be the apple of one’s eye when it comes down to dreams & aspiration realisation. There are many such reasons. One needs to contemplate!

Nikhil you know that there are two types of people-

one who dont want to face the problem and they always think of them selves so as to ignore or avoid the ongoing problems..

2nd type of people are those who are not only ready to face the problem happily but also try to find out some solutions for tht as they not only think of themselves. and this is the reason why some mumbai ’s people think like u ..You know Delhi is more polluted and over populated then Mumbai, and instead of these ongoing problems, Delhi people always welcome others ..thats why Delhi is famous all over the world for .” Delhi Dilwalo ki” …

Kash you people also think like Delhi, then saying for mumbai will be like .” Mumbai Mehanti Logo Ki”….. na ki “Migrates logo ki”..

@ varun please check you facts mumbai has the highest population in the world forget India …. Ask people in delhi how much they welcome UP ke Bhaiyaas…. you’ll get the answer…..

@ bunty decent suggestion but it is only possible if people here become less…. do you know the reasons why the above mention infrastructures could not be build is because we are utter crowded and people do not allow them to be built so if ur thinking of joining mumbai to pune …. Rest assure it will take atleast 25 years

@ pranshu, I believe this is one of my best posts because I know what I intended and what reactions I got, about the solutions, yes they are on the cards, I am doing research on them they will be put up soon, and the thought of decentralizing Mumbai forget it, it’s the biggest source of income tax to the country, cant imagine our politicians leave this source

Your post is just one of the countless posts popping up in millions of blogs everyday concerning Mumbai. I’m not thrashing your post, in fact I think you’re 100% right when you say Mumbai is getting humped. But the problem is that millions of users surfing the net everyday read about the diminishing life of Mumbai & nothing happens… they just seem to have become brighter and more knowledgeable about the city. Quite helpful in bragging & impressing people… LOL.
But not to deviate, I think everyone is too selfish or you can say too busy today to actually take a step onto even trying to help the city. Someone was really correct when he said that this is the best generation we live in… the next will be – forget it I don’t wanna speak about it…

so guys heres another information i just recieved from someone here in delhi…. it says that its not the politicians that are creating the problem but that the budget fixed for the city aint that big…delhi has been taking all the cream …thanks to the commonwealth games….so thats news guys n bad one for mumbai

Well guys i respect most of ur views except i few (abt delhi gutter n all), let me reiterate some points.
Mumbai is the financial hub of the country, we account for almost 35% of tax collection kitty close to being 1,00,000 cr next closest being delhi wid 48,000 cr. If we crib abt infra problems wid mumbai how much money is comin back to Mumbai (barely 5%) so PPP takes a hit. we need to ask 4 more so tht infra woes are lessend.i agree wid nuanse, look at delhi they building a commonwealth city for the games automatically improving infra..
I am not a supporter of shiv sena but i beleive they rite wen they say there shd be a visa system in mumbai (idea at 1st sounds weird but as einstien said no idea is sucessful if not found weird at 1st instance). The influx of ppl in mumbai is detrimental 14 million n still counting (most populous city in the world) with no infra to support them.
N mumbai still remains the city most aspired to be by ppl in India..as i have seen many ppl coming frm outside n making it big in the city.Its a safe city for women as well..so all these factors count into mumbai’s favor
But the worst part abt majority of the ppl is “chalta hai” attitude..which sucks big time.
I beleive tht we shd stop paying taxes if we get this unfairly treatment frm the central govt .delhi metro is bcoz of taxes paid by us Mubaikars (might be an overstmt).
